I'm proud to announce that I am a West End District Redevelopment Committee member. 

The Southaven West End Redevelopment Committee aims to revitalize the historical heart of Southaven, known as "Original Southaven." Established in the early 1960s, this area experienced initial growth, becoming a suburban hub adjacent to Memphis, Tennessee. Over the years, economic shifts and changing demands led to a need for redevelopment efforts. The West End Business District, spanning from Highway 51 to Dorchester Drive and Main Street, seeks to attract businesses and investors through targeted incentives. The West End District presents a promising opportunity for business owners, entrepreneurs, and real estate investors to contribute to the revitalization of "Original Southaven." Follow our progress by liking our Facebook Page.

I recently attended the West End Redevelopment Committee meeting hosted by the Southaven Chamber of Commerce. We are making strides to better the “Original Business District” of Southaven! Stay tuned!!

Great news! The House of Representatives passed House Resolution 11, a crucial bill reinstating Mississippians' constitutional right to access the ballot. This right had been previously challenged by a technicality, which the Supreme Court acknowledged. In response, my House colleagues and I crafted new legislation to safeguard and restore this fundamental right. I am honored to have supported this resolution, championing our citizens' constitutional freedoms.

Mississippi marks a historic milestone with legislation that paves the way for Amazon Web Services (AWS) to invest $10 billion in the state. The landmark initiative includes the establishment of hyperscale data centers, generating 1,000 jobs and significantly boosting the tech sector. The legislation allocates $44 million for infrastructure costs, with an additional $215.1 million loan to the county.

This private sector investment demonstrates Mississippi's competitive edge in economic development. AWS, committed to the state's educational development, will enhance its STEAM program in K-12 schools and higher education institutions, fostering innovation and training in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. The project is expected to conclude in 2027.

It was a privilege to introduce Colonel (Chaplain) Puckett, a distinguished figure from the Mississippi National Guard, to lead the Chamber in prayer. Not only was he my initial Chaplain when I enlisted two decades ago in the 2/20th Special Forces Unit of the Mississippi Army National Guard, but he is also a genuine man of faith and a true warrior—a special forces green beret and paratrooper. I extend my gratitude to Colonel Puckett for delivering an inspiring prayer that centered on the future of Mississippi. Your presence and words added a profound and meaningful dimension to the moment.
